She graduated from University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio and completed her family medicine residency at the same institution. An assignment with the US Air Force brought her to Cheyenne, Wyoming and subsequently to the Black Hills of Western South Dakota. Falling in love with the beauty of the Black Hills, she practiced family medicine in Spearfish for 27 years. To develop her skills and knowledge to meet the needs of her aging patients, Dr. Deb pursued additional studies in "her spare time". She completed a fellowship in Geriatrics at University of South Dakota Medical School in Sioux Falls. She was the senior physician creating the Geriatric Palliative Care Team that served the Northern Hills of the Black Hills, She is "tripled" Boarded in Family Medicine, Geriatrics and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine. When "not doctoring", Dr. Deb enjoys gardening in her green house, moving rocks on her mountainside home, hiking, biking with her husband and traveling.
